Mr. Prem Prabhakar joined as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of SBI Ventures Limited (formerly known as SBICAP Ventures Limited) in June 2024. A seasoned banker with over 25 years of diverse experience in the financial services industry, Mr. Prabhakar brings a deep understanding of banking operations, treasury, compliance, risk management and strategic leadership.
Prior to his appointment at SBI Ventures Limited, Mr. Prabhakar held the position of General Manager at State Bank of India (SBI), where he played several key leadership roles across
domestic and international assignments. His career reflects a consistent record of managing complex portfolios, driving innovation, and delivering strong operational and financial outcomes.
One of his notable assignments includes serving as Deputy General Manager (Business & Operations), where he oversaw a large cluster of SBI branches. In this capacity, he was responsible for the retail business, operational excellence, customer service enhancement, and implementation of risk mitigation strategies. He played a critical role in ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs), internal controls, and audit norms while leading initiatives to promote digital transformation and tech-enabled banking services at the branch level. His efforts contributed significantly to improving compliance with RBI guidelines,
internal policies, and regulatory expectations.
Mr. Prabhakar’s core area of specialisation lies in treasury and financial markets, where he has experience of more than a decade in managing diverse functions such as foreign
exchange, money markets, derivatives, resource mobilisation, asset-liability management (ALM), and interest rate and liquidity risk management. He served as Chief Dealer (Forex) at
SBI Global Markets, Mumbai, where he was responsible for forex operation and uphold SBI’s role as a market maker.
Internationally, Mr. Prabhakar also held the role of Head of Central Treasury at SBI New York, where he managed strategic relationships with other central treasuries and global
treasury counterparts. His leadership in this role reinforced SBI’s footprint in global markets and ensured efficient treasury operations aligned with global best practices.
In addition to his executive roles, Mr. Prabhakar also served as a Director on the Board of Jharkhand Rajya Gramin Bank (JRGB), a Regional Rural Bank. In this governance role, he contributed to the strategic oversight, compliance monitoring and execution of development- focused banking initiatives. He was instrumental in ensuring alignment with RBI and NABARD guidelines, evaluating rural credit performance, priority sector lending, and strengthening the bank’s risk management framework.
Mr. Prabhakar holds a postgraduate degree in Humanities and is a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers (CAIIB). His strong academic foundation, combined with rich
field experience and global exposure, uniquely positions him to lead SBI Ventures Limited in its mission to foster innovation and investment in the financial ecosystem.
Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Satish Kachhawa has been appointed as the Chief Operating Officer at SBI Ventures Limited (Formerly known as SBICAP Ventures Limited) in June 2024. Bringing over 22 years of extensive experience in the banking industry, Mr. Kachhawa has a rich background in private equity, venture capital, corporate credit, SMEs, investment, and risk management roles, both within India and overseas.
Before joining SVL, he served as the Deputy General Manager at the State Bank of India (SBI). His career at SBI began as a Probationary Officer, where he made his mark by playing a pivotal role in establishing the bank’s Private Equity Portfolio. His expertise and leadership were further demonstrated during his tenure as Chief Dealer (private equity) at SBI Global Markets, where he managed a portfolio exceeding US$1 billion and spearheaded several significant investments.
In addition to his roles in India, he also held the prominent position of Assistant Vice President (Investments & Syndication) at SBI Chicago. Here, he successfully managed the bank’s investment portfolio, which included mortgage-backed securities, corporate bonds, and syndicated assets.
Satish holds an MBA in Finance from NMIMS, Mumbai and is a CFA charter holder.

Akshay Panth has close to 2 decades of experience in Private Equity, Principal Investments and Advisory roles with leading domestic and international investors. He started his career with the India Infrastructure Fund (a c.US$1Bn Infrastructure Fund managed by IDFC Alternatives) and has since worked with multiple private equity and principal investors. His previous experience includes working with CapAleph Private Equity, GMR Infrastructure, and MAPE Advisory Group.
At CapAleph, he handled the Infrastructure Support Services and Education & Skill Development segments for the Fund. At GMR Infrastructure, he was part of the Project Finance team working on the road sector where he submitted multiple bids to the NHAI. He has been part of teams that have invested over US$100Mn in the Indian infrastructure space.
Akshay holds a bachelor’s degree in Commerce and PGDM/MBA.

Kader has close to 2 decades of rich work experience in various facets of real estate alternative investments, strategic advisory, and investment banking. He has been a part of several full life cycle RE deals from investment appraisals to exit in his previous stints. He has been associated with marquee organisations like Morgan Stanley, ICICI Venture and Brookfield. He started his career with an arm of Morgan Stanley, focusing on investment banking in global real estate. Later, at ICICI Venture, for almost a decade, he led several notable acquisitions and financings (across various sectors, geographies and investment structures), portfolio management and eventually divestments for US$550MM real estate private equity funds as well as a domestic structured debt fund.
Kader holds a bachelor’s degree in Commerce, M. Com and is a Chartered Accountant.

Berinder Sahni has over 2 decades of experience in investments and financial services. He has worked on M&A, equity, and debt offerings totaling over US$ 2 billion. Berinder started his career with EY in Assurance Services. He worked with the investment banking arm of JPMorgan in India and the United States.
He was a part of the team that commenced the real estate investment banking practice at Colliers International in India. While at Colliers, Berinder worked with developers, NBFCs and private equity funds to raise US$ 250 million in debt and equity. As a Director in Unicus Advisors, he worked on Family office investments managing over US$250 million in assets. In his last role, Berinder led the corporate finance and strategy team for a large Mumbai-based developer.
Berinder holds a Masters degree in Commerce, is a Chartered Accountant and a CFA charter holder.

Nikhil Kejriwal has close to 2 decades of experience, largely in Real Estate Investment Management. After starting his career in family business, he moved on to join the investment banking practice at Morgan Stanley. With platforms such as TCG real Estate, Milestone Capital and Capital India Finance, Nikhil has led investments in real estate project and handled the entire spectrum – deal origination, investment evaluation, transaction structuring, due diligence, legal documentation, asset management and exits.
Nikhil holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, is a Chartered Accountant, is a CFA charter holder and holds an MBA.

Vivek Agarwal has close to 2 decades of experience in Assurance, Consulting, and Real Estate Investments in the Indian market. He started his career at Assurance practice of PwC and joined the EY Transaction Support division. He was part of the financial due diligence team working across sectors with a focus on Real Estate. Later, he joined Xander Finance, the NBFC arm of The Xander Group Inc., and led senior secured high yielding Real Estate investments across the NCR, Hyderabad and Kolkata region for almost 8 years. Thereafter, he was part of Piramal NCR Investments team for around 2 years. Both at Xander and Piramal, he managed the entire gamut of commercial, residential and hospitality transactions. He also handled the entire spectrum of deal origination, investment evaluation, transaction structuring, due diligence, legal documentation, asset management and exits.

Rajat Goyal has 2 decades of experience across various functions including private equity, strategy, consulting, and commercial banking with key focus on sectors like Real Estate and Infrastructure. He started his career as a commercial banker with Kotak Mahindra Bank and moved on to work with KPMG in consulting. In the last 10 years, he has worked across various Real Estate and Infrastructure focused funds such as L&T Infra Private Equity, ILFS Investment Manager, Shapoorji Pallonji Investment Advisor and LOGOS India.
He has also worked across the spectrum of investment cycle i.e. identifying and evaluating investment opportunities, negotiations, structuring, underwriting, diligence and deal closure. At L&T Infra Private Equity, he has led investments and managed an AUM of US$ 150mn across real estate and infrastructure. At IL&FS, he was part of the US$ 1.4bn Real Estate private equity fund and was responsible for asset management & divestment. At Shapoorji, he led the acquisition of a $250mn commercial asset through a competitive bidding process. At LOGOS (Warehousing platform), he was responsible for acquisitions in North and West region.

Shuvam Pandit has close to two decades of experience in real estate and allied sector investments across India.
He started his professional career with Wipro Technologies, where he was part of a team delivering technical solutions to a global leader in imaging and printing solutions. After completing his post-graduation, he was part of Yes Bank’s Urban Infrastructure team and was a team leader for the West region, looking after lending to the real estate, hospitality, healthcare, and education sectors.
In his last assignment, he was heading real estate investments for the West region at Xander Finance, the NBFC arm of The Xander Group Inc. Both at Xander and Yes Bank, he managed the entire spectrum of the deal lifecycle, starting from origination, investment evaluation, transaction structuring and negotiations, due diligence, documentation, asset management, and exits.
Shuvam holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and Engineering and an MBA in Finance.

Suken Shah has over a decade of experience in fund raising investments and asset management across Infrastructure assets working with Private Equity, Principal Investments and Advisory firms. He was also a part of a leading family office, where he was responsible for investing and managing mid-market opportunities.
He has also been a part of Brescon Advisors, where he provided financial and strategic advisory to mid and large corporates; he was instrumental in striking a JV with Piramal group to set up a USD 1 billion special situations investment platform.

Jai Shah has over a decade of experience across Fund Management, Strategic Advisory, Equity Research and Investment Banking working with Kitara Capital and AltFort Capital. He has executed various deals in the Private Equity and Investment Banking space. He has also been involved in fundraising, fund formation and strategic advisory roles.

Ankita Shrivastav is a qualified Company Secretary (CS), with a decade of experience as a compliance officer and company secretary. She has handled matters pertaining to the Companies Act, secretarial audit, RBI regulations and company incorporation etc.
She started her career with D.A. Kamat & Co. Mumbai where she performed secretarial audit and other compliance for listed companies, banking companies, government companies, unlisted public companies, and Section 8 companies as per the provisions of the Companies Act and other regulatory compliance for clients including Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Limited, SBI Capital Limited, SBI Foundation, Stock Holding Corporation Limited, Aurangabad Industrial Township Limited and Indian Institute of Banking and Finance.
Ankita is a qualified Company Secretary.
